NICK POWELL once had the world at his feet after making a shock transfer to Manchester United.
The former English wonderkid was signed by the Red Devils in 2012 after impressing Sir Alex Ferguson at Crewe Alexandra.
Powell, 32, failed to make the grade at Old Trafford as he was limited to just three Premier League appearances.
After a year of limited action under Ferguson, the midfielder was sent out on loan at Wigan Athletic.
During his loan spell, he scored 12 goals in 41 appearances in all competitions.
His success at the DW Stadium was enough to convince them to sign him permanently in 2016 after his contract at United expired.
However, it has emerged that he did get himself into trouble at the Latics after a picture of the club’s fine board went viral on social media.
The picture is from 2019 and shows Powell being fined alongside a number of his team-mates.
Stars such as Josh Windass and Kal Naismith were fined for not having a “GPS”.
Powell on the other hand was slapped with a £20 fine for an X-rated joke.

On the board, it was written that he was heard saying “I tooled your mum” though it is not known who the jibe was aimed at.
Powell spent three seasons with Wigan between 2016 and 2019 before leaving the club for Stoke City.
He went on to have a spell at Stockport County before joining Bradford City in 2025.
The former England youth international has previously admitted that he was often left in “limbo” at United.
He told MEN: “I didn’t feel like I was part of anything at the time.
“I was in limbo between reserves and the first team.
“I remember people trying to find me because I was late to a reserve game, reserve training, first-team training – purely because I didn’t know where I was supposed to be
“I’d get onto one training pitch and I’d be told, ‘no, you’re over there this week’ and I’d be 10, 15 minutes late and I’d be getting fined.
“But nobody was talking to me, I didn’t know where I was supposed to be.”
