Tragedy as boy, 13, riding e-scooter dies after being hit by car as cops 2

A BOY, 13, has been killed in a horror crash while riding an e-scooter as cops arrest two men.

Police were called to the scene of the tragedy, in Grimsby, at around 6pm on Tuesday.

A white Seat Ibiza is understood to have struck the victim, who was riding an e-scooter, on Fairmont Road.

Paramedics rushed the teenager to hospital where he sadly died on Friday.

Humberside Police arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

A 41-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.

Both men have since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has any information including CCTV or dashcam footage from around the time the incident is believed to have occurred, to contact the force on 101 quoting log 346 of 24 March.
