MANCHESTER UNITED icon Nicky Butt has called for Old Trafford chiefs to strike stunning summer deals for Victor Osimhen and Adam Wharton.
The Red Devils are already planning to make FOUR major signings after edging towards Champions League qualification.
And Butt, 51, reckons United should make Galatasaray frontman Osimhen their first-choice attacking target.
The Nigerian marksman is seen as an upgrade on Benjamin Sesko, who arrived from RB Leipzig last summer.
Butt told Paddy Power: “I think he’d be the one. You’d like to think that players from Turkish sides are gettable.
“The recruitment team will not only look at the best players, but you’re looking at the ones that are gettable.
“You’re wasting time on certain players that you’re not going to get if they cost £120million.
“I think he’s powerful, quick, he can run in behind, he’s strong, has got a good touch, can score different types of goals, he’s good in the air.
“It’s a difficult job to recruit players and maybe you go and find someone with potential but they keep doing that and it doesn’t quite work.
“Sesko has not quite worked. It’s the same mistake as Rasmus Hojlund. A young, unproven striker, a lot of money, too much weight on his shoulders.

“He’s scored a few goals and done well over the last few weeks but he’s not been a roaring success.
“Sesko might be ready in two or three years but not right now and definitely not in the Champions League.
“I know Osimhen isn’t proven in the Premier League but you look at his physicality and the way he plays football, he can definitely handle it.”
United are also in the market for fresh options in the middle of the park after Casemiro announced plans to quit at the end of the season.
Butt feels the Red Devils should prioritise a move for Wharton instead of Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson.
He is confident the Crystal Palace fan favourite, 22, would bring the best out of Kobbie Mainoo at a time he is expecting to leave Selhurst Park.
The Treble winner added: “I really do like Adam Wharton, I’d prefer him over Elliot Anderson, but they’re both really good players. Either one would be great.
“If you look at the history of United, they always bought the best young players in the league, the likes of [Roy] Keane and [Michael] Carrick.
“They are young midfielders that can get around the pitch, pass the ball, receive the ball in tight areas.
“I’d probably go for Wharton over Elliot Anderson. I think he would fit with Kobbie Mainoo better. Kobbie is playing a little bit more advanced, a role that suits him more than a deeper one.
“I’m sick of United getting players that are not used to the Premier League.
“A prime example was [Juan Sebastian] Veron. He was a world class superstar, he had unbelievable talent – and I mean unbelievable talent – but just couldn’t get up with the speed of the Premier League.
“Wharton and Anderson have proved they can play in the league. Both can score goals, both are comfortable on the ball, really good at receiving the ball in tight areas.
“If you’re going to play for United, you’ve got to be able to do that because it can be very, very intense when you go away from home and it’s tight. You’ve got to be able to receive the ball in tight areas and be brave.”
