A GIANT snake slithered through the water just yards away from pro golfers in terrifying scenes.
The DP World Tour is in India this week for the Hero Indian Open.

The tournament takes place at the DLF Golf and Country Club near New Delhi.
Its championship 18-hole golf course was designed by none other than nine-time major champion Gary Player.
But the tricky course is littered with water hazards – and now there are even more hazards in the water.
A video captured a whopping, massive snake swimming in the water, just off the edge of the grassy rough during the first round.
Incredibly, a super brave bird even walks over to take a closer look.
The DP World Tour shared the scary clip on their social media channels.
They wrote: “SNAKE ALERT. As if DLF wasn’t tough enough… now they’ve got to dodge these as well.”
It appears the snake is a Checkered Keelback, given its name for the incredible pattern that runs the length of its back and its rough raised ridge on the scales – rather than smooth and shiny.

Checkered Keelbacks are common in Indian waters and feed on frogs and fish plus insects and even some rodents.
Crucially for the DP World Tour golfers, they are non-venomous snakes and therefore not a lethal threat to humans – but they can be feisty and will bite in defence.
After their week in India, the tour has a week off over Easter weekend before heading to the relative safety of Augusta National for the Masters.
Rory McIlroy heads to Georgia as the defending champion – and therefore hosting the champions’ dinner – while world No1 Scottie Scheffler is eyeing a third green jacket in five years.
