GREECE isn’t short of beautiful places to visit, but there is one spot that has recently got new hotels and will be getting new holiday deals.
Jet2 is launching new holiday packages to Thassos in Greece from summer 2027.
Known as the ‘Emerald Isle of the Aegean’, Thassos features sprawling pine forests, large olive groves, mountain villages and an abundance of beaches.
And from next summer flights to Kavala International Airport will launch from three UK airports – Birmingham, Manchester and London Stansted.
Flights from Birmingham Airport will begin on May 12 and run until September 29, 2027, starting from £104 one-way.
From London Stansted Airport, flights will take off each week on Tuesdays between May 11 and September 28, 2027 and cost from £92 one-way.

And then for Manchester Airport, there will be two weekly services on a Tuesday and a Friday from May 11 to October 1, 2027 and cost from £104 one-way.
Last year, TUI also launched more budget three-star hotels on the island, with holiday packages costing from just £189 per person with TUI.
Jet2holidays has launched a range of new hotels as well, including two-star hotels and five-star hotels, across seven resorts on the island.
Jet2holidays resorts across the island include Agios Ioannis, Golden Beach, Limenaria, Potos, Skala Prinos, Skala Rahoni and Thassos Town.

Jet2holidays also has a number of holiday packages including a seven-night break from Birmingham on May 26, 2027, at Giannikis By The Beach hotel for £729 per person.
Across the island, travellers can enjoy a range of activities including visiting the Ancient Agora site, which has old temples and an ancient theatre.
In total, the island boasts 34 beaches including Paradise Beach, which is considered to be one of the best swimming spots in Limenas.
You’ll also be able to explore Pefkari Reef, which in areas is nearly 10metres deep.
Both beginners and more experience divers can visit the reef, where they will also see up to eight wildlife species including jackfishes and scorpiondishes.
If you prefer hiking, the island also has rolling green mountains to explore such as Mount Ipsarion which boasts amazing views of the island.
You can also visit smaller villages littered around the island, such as Panagia and Theologos – they are untouched and feature narrow streets and old architecture.
There’s also Giola lagoon, where you’ll find natural rock formations that have created pools.
One recent visitor said: “Visiting Giola was definitely the highlight of my trip to Thassos.
“I had seen pictures before going, but nothing compares to seeing it in real life.
“The water is so clear and the color is unreal—like a mix of emerald and turquoise.
“I remember just standing there for a minute, thinking, “Is this even real?”
“It felt like discovering a secret magical place.
If you want to grab a beer, you can expect to pay around €4.50 (£3.89), then a glass of wine is about €5 to €7(£4.30 to £6), while cocktails start at €7 (£6).
