Craig Bellamy shuts down reporter with very blunt response after being asked question about Mo Salah

FORMER Liverpool star Craig Bellamy snubbed a reporter mid-question with a blunt response during a press conference.

The ex-Reds forward, who now manages Wales, was addressing the media on Wednesday before his side’s World Cup Qualifier play-off semi-final against Bosnia.

But one reporter decided to ask him about the shocking confirmation of Mo Salah’s imminent exit from Liverpool, which was announced by the club and the Egyptian the day prior.

Bellamy was determined to keep the conversation directed on his team and their chances in Thursday’s match.

The reporter began by saying “It’s not every day of the week that a player of Mo Salah’s stature says ‘that’s it…’” only for Bellamy to interject.

He replied: “Is he playing for Wales tomorrow?”

When the reporter admitted that he was not, Bellamy continued: “We’ll talk about him another day then.

“(Salah) Who I love by the way, I’ll give him that justice another time.

“Does he play for Bosnia or Wales? No, so we’ll move on from Mo Salah for now yeah?”

Bellamy can’t afford any distractions as he attempts to see Wales through to the 2026 World Cup in the summer.

It would be the nation’s third appearance at the tournament, having ended a 64-year hiatus from the competition when they made it to the Qatar World Cup in 2022.

But first they must defeat Bosnia and Herzegovina in Cardiff, and then go on to face the winner of Italy‘s semi-final clash with Northern Ireland.

The rest of the football world is still caught up by Salah’s sensational announcement, and the implications for the future of him and Liverpool.

The club released a statement revealing the decision earlier this week, which read: “Mohamed Salah is to bring the curtain down on his illustrious career with Liverpool FC at the end of the 2025-26 season.

“The forward has reached an agreement with the Reds that will see him close a remarkable nine-year chapter at Anfield.

“Salah expressed his wish to make this announcement to the supporters at the earliest possible opportunity to provide transparency about his future due to his respect and gratitude for them.

“With plenty still left to play for this season, Salah is firmly focused on trying to achieve the best possible finish to the campaign for Liverpool and, therefore, the time to fully celebrate his legacy and achievements will follow later in the year when he bids farewell to Anfield.”

Speculation around where he will go next and who Liverpool could target to replace him has been swirling since the revelation, with a big-money offer from the Saudi Pro League among the potential moves for the Prem great.
