Channel 4’s Taskmaster reveals new series start date — and it’s just days away

CHANNEL 4’s Taskmaster has revealed the new series start date – and fans won’t have to wait long, it’s days away.

The hit comedy series sees five celebrities, usually comedians, set tasks challenging their creativity and wit.

These tasks are supervised by Alex Horne but the Taskmaster Greg Davies, always has the final say.

As the brand new series rapidly approaches Channel 4 have already unveiled it’s star-studded line-up.

In the upcoming episodes fans are set to see huge names raring to compete.

Gavin & Stacey’s Joanna Page, Last One Laughing UK star Amy Gledhill and The Masked Singer‘s Joel Dommett have already been confirmed.

New Saturday Night Live UK cast revealed – including Taskmaster star

Alongside them Hollywood star Kumail Nanjiani and The Thick of It’s Armando Iannucci will also be making an appearance.

Season 21 of the beloved series will premiere on Thursday April 9 at 9:00pm.

All the episodes will be available later on the Taskmaster YouTube channel globally at 10:00pm.

Alex Horne recently let slip some of the hilarious antics that are set to take place on the upcoming season.

Speaking to Radio Times, he said: “There is a moment involving Kumail Nanjiani, I don’t want to give much away, but he gives a lot away about what he does by himself in his hotel room.

“So that’s what you’ve got to tune in for.

He surprised himself by what he revealed, and I was sat next to him, and it’s a big moment. It’s a never-before-seen Taskmaster moment.”

Alex also confessed that Armando surprised him – but in a way fans won’t be expecting.

“He’s a comedy legend and a very clever man, you’d think,” he added.

“Not on Taskmaster! It turns out Armando is an idiot, which is so nice to [know].”

Alex continued: “I found him quite daunting to meet and work with, but within five minutes, you realise he’s the same as everyone else. He crumbles under pressure.”

The last main season of Taskmaster was won by Maisie Adam, who is currently appearing in the second season of Jimmy Carr’s Last One Laughing UK alongside Amy.

Greg Davies is of course returning as the TaskmasterCredit: Channel 4
