AN Emmerdale star has been rushed to hospital after a “very bad fall” which left them needing surgery.
The actress revealed she had the terrifying fall at the weekend but assured fans it had nothing to do with alcohol.
I’m A Celeb star Lisa Riley has made a trip to the hospital after she had an unfortunate incident with a breakfast stool.
The soap legend was forced to have surgery as she landed on her thumb during the freak accident.
Lisa admitted she had torn the UCL in her thumb so needed to be seen by a specialist surgeon.
The ulna collateral ligament (UCL) in the thumb is a strong ligament that supports it when gripping or pinching. If the ligament is damaged it can lead to pain and instability around one of the main joints of the thumb.
Opening up about the fall on Instagram, Lisa said: “I had a very bad fall over the weekend (no I’m sober) no drunk jokes.
“It was my extremely slippy breakfast stool and a woollen cardi. My left thumb took all of it, so today hence the massive damage I have had my operation, surgery, treating my UCL in my thumb repaired.”
She continued: “It’s absolute best-bye for now I have some fantastic pain relief to take.”
Lisa praised her surgeon and the team for supporting her through the ordeal.
Lisa said: “Our NHS is incredible… I have to massively thank my specialist surgeon Mr Daniel Thornton at LGI Leeds hospital and all the beautiful team – every single one of you who treated me this afternoon.”
In the post, Lisa could be seen posing in the hospital in a huge cast and sling.
The Emmerdale star had a big smile on her face, so it seems she is well on her way to recovery.
After surgery, Lisa also snapped a picture with her surgeon, Daniel – the pair were both grinning ear-to-ear.
Fans and Lisa’s celebrity pals flooded the comments with well wishes.
