Nearly three-quarters of Brits find certain icons infuriating, while 57 per cent say they are often used passively aggressively by senders, according to a new study.

The poll of 2,800 Brits found that the most annoying emoji is the thumbs up, with 22 per cent of people seeing it as blunt, lazy and rude.
