‘He’s getting another hip done now.’
When it was pointed out that his father is more than twice his age, he replied: ‘I know, but it was clearly in there.
‘My uncle had two knees done. Like, it’s a thing. I think I was just ruined from the day I was born.’
During the same interview, Niall revealed his girlfriend Amelia Woolley was a ‘muse’ for a number of songs on his new album, Dinner Party.
He admitted: ‘She did a lot of crying.’
Last week, Niall revealed his song End Of An Era on the new record is a tribute to his late 1D bandmate Liam Payne.
Speaking to GQ, he said he ‘went into hiding a little bit’ after Liam’s funeral in 2024 – which was attended by all of their other bandmates: Harry Styles, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson.
As fans paid tribute around the world, he recalled seeing ‘lots of photos and videos and things of us growing up together. And being nostalgic about it straightaway, along with fear and sadness and all the stuff that comes with grief.’
On getting the news of his passing, he added: ‘I just remember getting a message, and I was just like, What?… I just didn’t think it was real.
‘Someone so young, you’re not expecting to hear that they’ve passed, especially someone that you’ve just seen. I just went back from shock to sadness to anger.’
In the new track, Niall sings: ‘We had it / Pure magic / Remember what it was like / Time passes / So fast and / I couldn’t tell you goodbye.’
During the same interview, he shared a rare insight into his relationship with Amelia, gushing about his contentment with his ‘amazing’ partner.
He said: ‘Having someone to rant with and listen to and be listened to is huge. I’m glad I found it.
‘And she’s amazing and she’s got her own thing going on. I love the life that we’ve got.’

The couple enjoy a simple life together but frequently find their weekends just disappear.
Niall admitted: ‘We’re also big procrastinators. Friday’ll come and I’ll be like, ‘Can’t wait for the weekend,’ and then Sunday night comes and we’ve done nothing. We spent the whole weekend in the house.’
Meanwhile, Niall recently revealed he has a developed a taste for high-end wristwatches.
In a social media video teasing the June release of his fourth album, Niall showed off his vintage Patek Philippe Calatrava.
