Galatasaray star Noa Lang struggling to go to toilet as he reveals struggles after almost severing thumb vs Liverpool

GALATASARAY forward Noa Lang is having toilet troubles after almost losing his thumb in a freak accident against Liverpool.

Lang, 26, took a massive chunk out of his right hand when colliding with an advertising board during last week’s Champions League clash.

He needed surgery and was left bleeding severely, tearing his thumb and fearing that it might get the chop.

Luckily that has not been necessary, but life is still tough with a mangled digit.

Speaking on international duty with the Netherlands, Lang explained: “My thumb is still intact. It might be possible to stitch it back together.

“The doctor expects the finger to survive. At the moment, I can’t play on the PlayStation.

“I’m right-handed, so this isn’t a minor issue when I go to the toilet. I also need help getting into the shower.”

Dutchman Lang, who is on loan from Napoli for the season, is fortunate to keep his thumb after suggestions that it might be amputated.

He is now wearing a massive bandage during training and has seen the positive side after being left screaming in pain at Anfield.

Lang said: “I wanted to cushion the blow with the advertising hoardings, but they turned out to be rather sharp.

“The tip of my thumb was dangling.”

Images have shown just how nasty the incident was for 15-cap Lang, as he clutched his thumb and wriggled on the floor.

Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai could hardly look as the player received medical attention pitch side.

Uefa, Liverpool, and Gala all opened investigations into how Lang was left like this.

Lang himself wrote from hospital: “S*** happens. Surgery went well! Thanks for all the messages.”

And Gala general secretary Eray Yazga said: “We made a complaint to Uefa representatives after the match.

“They also made their investigations. Uefa will evaluate the issue. We are in talks with lawyers.

“We will file a lawsuit for compensation to Uefa. We will ask for our victimisation in terms of salary to be eliminated.”

Liverpool went on to win the match 4-0, overturning a 1-0 first leg deficit to get themselves into the quarter-finals.
