AN influencer has tragically died after mistaking a tumour for a muscle strain.
Wang Wei-Chien, 29, was diagnosed with lymphoma after experiencing swelling and pain under her arm.
The influencer – from Taiwan – initially thought it was due to muscle strain from lifting something heavy.
But after finding a lump in 2021 Wei-Chien decided to see a doctor.
Despite undergoing treatment the tumour continued to grow rapidly, according to Creatorzine.
Her death was confirmed on Thursday by the company behind her business operations.
Wei-Chien shared her daily life with her more than 18,000 Instagram followers.
When she lost her hair in 2022 while undergoing chemotherapy treatment, she posted a photo of her boyfriend and friends who had secretly shaved their heads in solidarity.
“The moment I saw them, I burst into tears – my emotions just exploded,” she wrote.
“They showed me, through their actions, that I didn’t need to be afraid.
“At that moment, I felt completely filled with courage and strength, and suddenly shaving my head didn’t feel scary at all.”
As she shared her life through treatment, inspiring other people suffering with the disease, Wei-Chien also founded the skincare brand Hermacy.
On Thursday, the company released a statement, saying: “As Ms Wang was the core of our company’s operations, after careful consideration, the company has decided to officially cease operations.”
In her Instagram bio, the creator described herself as the “most beautiful anti-cancer ambassador”.
Her loyal fans had affectionately given her the title.
In her final post to social media on New Year’s Eve, Wei-Chien wrote: “See you next year, babies. Bye bye, 2025.”
The exact date of her death remains unknown, however a tribute post from a friend February 3 suggests she passed in January.
Her death comes after Polish influencer Masza Graczykowska, 25, was found dead in her flat.
Graczykowska stopped posting online nearly a year and a half ago, sparking growing concern among her fans.
Masza’s followers were sent into a worried frenzy after her mother recently changed her profile picture to black.
Authorities later confirmed the beloved Polish creator had been found dead in her flat on March 8.
