WHEN it comes to beauty trends, few have been as popular in recent years as the viral peel-off lip stains.
But they also don’t come in cheap, with the popular Wonderskin product coming in at a whopping £18 a pop.
So it’s understandable that beauty fans are racing to their nearest Primark, after the high street store launched a budget version of their own – for just £3.
Ronalda took to her TikTok page to share a video of herself trying out the peel off lip stain “so you don’t have to”.
She showed herself swatching the stain – in the shade Sweetheart – on her hand.
The product came out blue, before Ronalda used a wipe to remove the top colour to reveal a gorgeous pastel pink hue beneath – the perfect shade for spring.

“Swatching @Primark first ever peel off lip stain, in a shade Sweetheart,” she captioned her TikTok.
“What do we think!?”
“I can confirm my hand is still stained,” Ronalda added in the comments section.
“I hope you guys appreciate the effort!”
People were quick to comment on the video, with one writing: “Need to give these a try!
“Is it just in one colour?” another asked.
To which Ronalda replied: “Currently only comes in sweetheart, hope they bring out more!”
“Stop, I need,” a third added.
While lip stains are showing no sign of dropping in popularity, there are a few things you need to be mindful of when it comes to applying them.
“With a long-lasting colour, you need to be mindful of where you’re placing the product,” Kulfi Beauty founder Priyanka Ganjoo told Vogue.
“It will leave pigment exactly where it touches.
“As your lip stain wears, you don’t want to end up with a halo or clownlike fade.”
Primark’s history
PRIMARK first opened in 1969 as Pennies in Dublin, hoping to provide affordable fashion in Ireland.
A Primark store officially opened as Primark in 1974 in Derby.
The retailer now has 193 stores across the UK and 441 stores worldwide with a goal of running 530 stores by the end of 2026.
It’s also unlikely you’ll find a big range of different colours in lip stains, as L’Oréal Associate Principal Chemist Roselin Rosario explained that there are “only a small number of dyes that stain the lips safely”.
“And since there are a wide range of pigments that are safe for us on the lips, that’s why there are many more colour options for lipsticks,” she told Makeup.com.
