NEW Channel 4 reality show The Hunt debuted tonight and viewers were quickly shocked to discover one player is a VERY young grandad.
Introducing himself, father-of-six Nathan, 33, who is married to wife Carly, revealed he’s also a grandfather, though has taken on the name ‘Papa’ as it’s “cooler”.
Having previously worked in the military, he is now a dentist and runs a casting agency and two drama schools.
Viewers voiced their surprise at his family dynamic, with one writing on X: “He’s 33 and he’s a grandad!?”
Another said: “Nathan. A grandad, at 33?!!!”
A third wrote: “Surprised no one had follow up questions for Nathan being a grandad at 33!?”
A fourth posted: “Kids having kids.”
Nathan joked the show would be a “holiday” from his hectic life at home and described the £100k prize as “life-changing for my family”.
He has been diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), a condition that can cause seizures and physical weakness.
It’s the main driver behind his appearance on the show as he wants to prove he can still take on an intense physical and mental challenges.
He defiantly said: “Nothing will limit me, I will limit me if I choose to limit me, and like f**k I’ll choose to limit me.”
The 10 contestants were divided into two camps: Predators and Prey.
Team Prey have to find challenges in a sprawling forest and complete them to win cash while the Predators need to hunt the other players down.
If caught, the Prey must swap roles with the Predator and hand over their money. At the end of each episode, a Predator will be voted off the show.
Another notable contestant is Shelley, 70, a former model and dancer.
She spoke openly and honestly about achieving a glam look in later life.
“It’s hard work you know, I don’t wake up like this,” she said.
“I’m not the person who says ‘Oh this cream’s amazing, just use this cream and you’ll look like me’, well no you f***ing don’t, you need to go and get some injections.”
Shelley – who shows off her incredible physique on her Instagram account – boasted about being flirty to get ahead.
And dishing the dirt on her love life, she said to camera: “So I’m single at the moment but I’ve had some younger guys, shall we say.
“The youngest that recently approached me was 32.”
She continued: “It’s like, ‘you have sex when you’re 70?’ Yeah! I love sex!”
While she is single at the moment, Shelley has been married three times and has a son and three stepsons.
She said: “I think I’ve got good energy, I’ve been told that, so I’ll bring that to the game.
“Physically, I am quite fit, but obviously I may not be the fittest. But I think it will be a bit more of just using my charm, I suppose.”
