
TWO Brentford stars were left bloodied when they stepped in to stop a racist attack yesterday.
The first-team players were making their way home from the side’s 0-0 draw at Leeds when they saw a man being assaulted at 2am.
Witnesses say the attack, believed to be racially motivated, left the Brentford players bloodied in Richmond, South West London.
Neither player suffered any injuries requiring further treatment, with both described as being completely healthy yesterday.
It is understood that the pair made had their own travel arrangements to get home while some team-mates were dispatched to play in international matches.
The unnamed players waited with the alleged victim until police arrived.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman confirmed officers were called to the scene.
The spokesman added: “The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made at this time.”
It comes as Newcastle United vowed to track down fans accused of racially abusing Sunderland ace Lutsharel Geertruida.
The Tyne-Wear derby was stopped for five minutes after the 25-year-old Dutch player reported offensive language from the stands.
Brentford’s Premier League draw on Saturday allowed them to close in on the European qualifying places.
They are now two points behind sixth-placed Chelsea.
