From secret codes to identity clues… interactive map reveals location EVERY piece of Banksy graffiti art in UK

BANKSY has been the world’s most famous street artist for three decades but now his guarded identity could be under threat.

His subversive and satirical murals are dotted across the UK, and here you can use The Sun’s the interactive map to see where his street art has appeared over the years.

The man believed to be Robin Gunningham, aka Banksy

Banksy made his start on the underground scene in Bristol in the 1990s and the city is home to both his earlier works and some more famous murals.

He then moved to London and the city has many of Banksy’s most iconic pieces.

Including a recent artwork outside the Royal Courts of Justice which made headlines last year. The now removed mural showed a judge beating a protester with a gavel.

After a string of animal graffiti in 2024, many thought the artist was using his work to give clues about his plans for the future.

Banksy’s surprising net worth revealed after street artist’s identity ‘unmasked’

Such plans may have been cut short after last week’s investigation from Reuters which claims to have unmasked the notorious artist.

The news agency named the infamous artist as Robin Gunningham after finding his name in a misdemeanour charge in New York in 2000.

The charge against Gunningham related to the defacing of a Marc Jacobs billboard in Manhattan after a drunken night out.

The “artist” had given the model “goofy teeth” and drawn a “giant speech bubble” but he didn’t get the chance to fill it before police arrested him.

Police documents, a handwritten confession and court filings from the time identify Gunningham as the vandal, the report found.

Gunningham has long been linked to the street artist following a Mail on Sunday article in 2008 but his then manager denied the claim.

It was also previously reported that Robin Gunningham, a student at Bristol Cathedral School, adopted the name Robin Banks before becoming Banksy.

Reuters said that to avoid detection the street artist changed his name to David Jones.

They also found that the date on Jones’s passport matched the one on Gunningham’s documents

They said they found evidence of a man of the same name leaving Ukraine in 2022 after several Banksy murals were created there.

David reportedly left the same day as Massive Attack co-founder Robert Del Naja who is said to be in the same circles as the artist.

The musician was at one point even rumoured to be Banksy as he is a known graffiti artist.

Banksy has said nothing following the Reuters’ investigation but his lawyer Mark Stephens said he didn’t accept “many of the details contained within your inquiry are correct”.

The representative added that the report could put the artist in danger and would interfere with his work.
