THE heartbroken family of a 15-year-old girl killed in a horror motorbike crash have paid tribute to their “brightest star”.
Lexi Catlin sadly died after the collision on the A355 in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, west of London, at around 9.30pm on March 13.
Her devastated family said they had been “tragically” robbed of Lexi, adding that Saturday March 21, would have been her 16th birthday.
The teen had been riding as a pillion passenger on a motorbike involved in a crash with two cars.
In a statement released by Thames Valley Police, her loved ones said: “Lexi was kind, caring, funny and outgoing, whose smile lit up every room.
“She loved being out with her friends, having fun and making the most of every minute of every day.
“Lexi had so, so much to offer this world, with so many dreams and aspirations that we will now never get to see her fulfill.
Her devastated family family said they are “truly heartbroken”, describing a “massive Lexi-shaped hole” in their lives that will never be the same again.
In the heartfelt statement, they added: “Words cannot express how much Lexi was loved and adored by her family, who miss her so much already.”
The family is said to be holding a private event to mark what would have been her 16th birthday and asked for privacy at this difficult time.
In a touching sign-off, they added: “Fly high, Lexi Lulu – you’ll be the brightest star in the sky.
“All our love, always.”
The force said a white Toyota Yaris, a grey Toyota Hilux and a motorbike were involved in the crash, and Lexi was a pillion passenger on the bike.
A 16-year-old boy from Beaconsfield, who was riding the motorbike, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Two other teenagers – a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl from High Wycombe – who were also on a motorbike, were also held on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Thames Valley Police said a mandatory referral had been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct as a police vehicle was “in the vicinity” at the time.
The force said the police vehicle was on the opposite carriageway and was not using blue lights.
