A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of a woman was discovered in a house in Bristol.
Ambulance crews were called to a property in Sussex Place in St Pauls, Bristol, at 8.40pm on Friday night, where the victim was found dead.
A 32-year-old man was arrested at the scene by police on suspicion of murder.
The victim is yet to be formally identified but the police believe the woman is in her thirties.
Her family has been informed.
The man remains in police custody and is being questioned by detectives.
An investigation into the murder has been launched by the Major Crime Investigation Team of Avon and Somerset Police, as enquiries continue to be carried out at the scene.
Detective Inspector Meade, from the force’s investigation team, said: ‘A thorough investigation will be carried out and our thoughts are with the family of the woman at what will be an incredibly difficult time.

‘Specially trained family liaison officers will continue to support the family.
‘An investigation is now underway as we work to establish the full circumstances of her death, and this will mean there will be a significant police presence in the coming days.
‘We know this news will come as a shock to the community and people will be concerned, but we are not looking for anybody else in connection with this death at the time.’
