
A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the tragic death of a woman in her thirties.
Cops have launched a murder probe after the woman was found dead at an address in Bristol last night.
An ambulance rushed to the house around 8.40pm yesterday, where they sadly found the woman dead.
Police arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion of murder at the scene and he remains in custody.
Avon and Somerset Police said it had launched a murder probe, with the investigation ongoing at the address in Sussex Place in the St Pauls neighbourhood of Bristol.
The woman has not yet been formally identified, but police believe she is a woman in her thirties.
It confirmed officers had informed the woman’s family of her tragic death.
Police added: “Our thoughts are with them at this time.”
Detective Inspector Neil Meade from the force’s Major Crime Investigation Team, said the probe is underway to “establish the full circumstances of her death”.
He reassured worried locals the force is not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident.
DI Meade added: “A thorough investigation will be carried out, and our thoughts are with the family of the woman at what will be an incredibly difficult time.
“Specially trained family liaison officers will continue to support the family. An investigation is now underway as we work to establish the full circumstances of her death, and this will mean there will be a significant police presence in the area over the coming days.
“We know this news will come as a shock to the community and people will be concerned, but we are not looking for anybody else in connection to this death, at this time.
“Anybody with concerns is advised to speak to neighbourhood officers, who will be carrying out extra patrols in the area.”
