ARMAND DUPLANTIS married his girlfriend in secret – and he isn’t happy people already know about it.
The pole vault star, 26, has been engaged to model partner Desiree Inglander since summer 2024, announcing it after the Paris Olympics.
And nobody realised they had gone a step further to actually tie the knot until it was revealed by accident.
Swedish-American Duplantis was legally married to long-term wag Inglander in Stockholm behind-closed-doors with plans for a proper reception later this year in France.
Citizens in Sweden must register in their home country before marrying abroad, hence Duplantis’ secretive move.
It has only come out due to a Bislett Games organiser, and wedding guest, letting slip that two-time Olympic gold medallist and world record smasher Duplantis would not be competing in the June event because he would be in Cannes to properly celebrate the marriage.
Now that the news is out, Duplantis told Sport Bladet: “I don’t have the ring on yet and we’re going to have the real ceremony and wedding during the summer.“
The 2022, 2023, and 2025 world champ admitted he wasn’t happy at the leak either.
He said: “I might have wished he wouldn’t say anything. I was a little shocked that he said it, but that’s how it is.

“It is what it is. It’s a wedding and it happens once in a lifetime. If you miss one or two competitions – who cares?
“I’ve competed as many times as I want in the last five years.
“If I have to miss a competition because of a wedding and marry the love of my life, it doesn’t matter.”
He added: “I feel half-married. But I don’t have the ring on. Not until the real ceremony in June.
“I’m holding on to the American tradition a bit and waiting for the ceremony.
“It feels a little strange. I’m grateful for it, there’s a lot of love.
“But we’re trying to find a balance to keep it a little private. And it feels a little uncomfortable to talk about it.”
Mondo and stunning blonde Inglander have become massive hits in recent years, celebrating their love at the Paris Games with a kiss and going viral.
Featured on the cover of Vogue Scandinavia, Inglander, 24, has over 800,000 Instagram followers compared to her now-husbands 1.5million.
The pair met in June 2020 at a party and things almost fell at the first hurdle.
Inglander told Vogue: “I had just graduated high school, I was not interested in anybody at the time.
“He felt like I had rejected him right away.”
They eventually hit it off with Duplantis styling his proposal in Hamptons as a photoshoot.
He said: “I was more nervous than at the Olympics.”
And Inglander gushed: “I’m still shocked. I’m such a control freak, it’s impossible to surprise me.”
Duplantis is dominant in the sport, setting the world record 15 times, and racking up more than 20 gold medals across his career as a junior and senior athlete.
He is also a three-time indoor world champ, crushing the field at the Diamond League and European Championships.
