FORMER Manchester United and Chelsea coach Silvino Louro has passed away at the age of 67.
The devastating news was announced by Real Madrid – where he spent three years – in a statement on Thursday evening.

It read: “Real Madrid CF, its president and its Board of Directors deeply regret the passing of Silvino Louro, Real Madrid’s goalkeeping coach between 2010 and 2013.
“Real Madrid wishes to express its condolences and its love and affection to his family, his teammates, his clubs and all his loved ones.”
Silvino joined Man Utd in 2016 following the appointment of Jose Mourinho and spent three seasons at the club.
He oversaw a goalkeeping group that included David De Gea, Sergio Romero, Sam Johnstone and Joel Pereira.
De Gea paid tribute to his former coach by posting a photo on Instagram with a caption that read: “Rest in Peace.”
During his time at Old Trafford, United won the Europa League and the League Cup.
Silvino had previously worked at Chelsea, Inter Milan and Porto.
He took up coaching in the early 2000s after retiring from his playing career.
The goalkeeper had previously played for the likes of Porto, Benfica and Vitoria Setubal.
He also made 23 appearances for the Portuguese national team.
Fans took to social media to share tributes for the former coach, with one Real Madrid supporter writing: “One of ours has passed away. May God hold him in His glory.”
Another said: “Even today Mourinho spoke about him… Rest in peace Silvino.”
