A COUPLE turned their boring utility room into the “coolest” home bar – and it’s hidden behind their fridge.
Scottish folksinger Claire Hastings and husband Michael built the stylish speakeasy at their home in Scotland.
Claire, voted BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year in 2015, showed off the incredible transformation on her social media channels this week.
Standing in front of a seemingly normal Smeg fridge, the mum of two said: “We turned our utility room into a pub!
“Is this the best beer fridge in Scotland?”
In her short video, she opens the fridge door to reveal a beer mat-clad entrance to her home bar.
The clip then shows a full seating area, bar complete with Tennant’s lager tap, piano and dartboard.
Claire later revealed that the renovation project was “fairly cheap” as hubby Michael did all of the work himself which “helped with the cost”.
Their secret pub post quickly went viral with more than 500,000 views on Instagram.
One person gushed: “May be the coolest thing in the world! Good job!”
“Oh my god this is incredible. I want this fridge too”, said a second.
A third wrote: “Omg, I wanna be there!!”
A fourth insisted: “This is cool as f***.”
“This is absolutely outrageous haha class”, chimed in a fifth.
And a sixth added: “Oohhhhhhhhhh!!! This is next level!”
But the finished result looked so good that some social media users claimed the video had to be fake.
Hitting back, Michael shared extra pictures from the transformation to prove it was real.
He said: “Thought I’d share the progress pics of the bar project just for those who think it’s AI.”
