Shoppers got more than they bargained for when an adorable possum was seen peeking its head out from the shelves of an airport gift shop.
The Australian native was seen sitting among plush toy animals, including a kangaroo, an echidna, and a koala, in the Hobart Airport store.
A surprised customer quickly pulled her phone out to film the possum, with the footage later shared by the airport’s social media team.
‘Can you spot the imposter?’ the footage was captioned.
‘This cheeky lost possum found a clever hiding place among the Aussie plushies in our retail store.
‘Luckily, it was safely relocated out of the terminal and the space was cleaned.’
Delighted Aussies were quick to share their thoughts on the video.
‘The toys are so lifelike, I’ll have that one thanks,’ one man joked.

‘How did he get through security?’ a third person asked, with Hobart Airport replying: ‘Popped his keys in the tray’.
Another woman said the possum must have been ‘so scared’, but the airport was quick to reassure her.
‘Great news is that he seemed pretty relaxed and at home with the plushies,’ it said.
