THIS is the VERY awkward moment Maura Higgins interviewed Robert Pattinson and accidentally brought up the thing he hates – but her US best pal has rushed to defend her.
At the red carpet premiere of The Drama, Robert’s new film, Maura could be seen chatting with the star wearing a sensational leather burgundy two-piece.
ITV’s Maura kicked off the chat by immediately mentioning her love of the Twilight films, which Robert reportedly hates.
He appeared quite uncomfortable and awkwardly laughed off her statement, but fans were quick to call the telly star out, slamming her interviewing skills.
Maura said in the clip: “I’m a huge fan. Huge fan. I’ve watched like all the Twilight films, like a hundred times.”
Robert replied: “Oh really?”

She continued: “I nearly know every script at this stage.”
Robert added: “I just realised I hadn’t seen one of them the other day… I think I might not have seen the last one.”
Fans flooded the comments saying Maura couldn’t be a “huge fan” because she didn’t know the actor “hates the Twilight series”.
One fan wrote: “It’s a known fact he hates the Twilight series.”
Another fan penned: “Huge fan, but don’t know he hates the Twilight franchise.”
A third person said: “This was awkward to watch.”
Meanwhile, a fourth fan added: “Bringing up Twilight was a HUGE mistake. That man HATES those movies.”
Others were confused about why she didn’t ask about his new movie or even his family, claiming that Maura seemed unprepared.
But despite backlash from fans, Maura’s US BFF, Lisa Rinna, took to the comments to defend her.
Lisa said: “I tink Maura doing this is perfect.”
Maura and Real Housewives’ star Lisa met on the set of The Traitors US and have become fast friends with Maura saying she’s her “American mum.”
The 35-year-old also interviewed Zendaya, who stars in The Drama, alongside Robert.
The Drama is a new romantic black-comedy drama, which follows a happily engaged couple that are put to the test when an unexpected revelation sends their wedding week off the rails.
