A HISTORIC restaurant and pub has closed its doors after serving drinkers at its boozer for 157 years.
The family-run venue was rated as one of the best hotspots in Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire.

The Plough shut its doors on Sunday, March 15, due to rising costs, reports LancsLive.
A spokesperson said: “Today we say a heartfelt goodbye as we close the doors of The Plough for the final time.
“For so many years this place has been far more than just a restaurant.
“It’s been a meeting place for friends and family, a place for celebrations, laughter, stories, and memories that we will always treasure.
“None of this would have been possible without the incredible support from our amazing customers and community.
“From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for every visit, every conversation, and every moment you shared with us.
The building was first opened as an inn in 1869 and had operated as a beer house for a lot of its life.
The Plough was then bought by the Reid family, who have been managing the pub since 2016.
In 2024, it won the regional restaurant award at England‘s Business Awards.
But in an emotional statement made on social media last night, the owners announced they had closed the boozer for good on March 15.
The building will now be turned into an adult day care centre.
