A PRICE war is making some Easter eggs even cheaper than last year in a boost for cash-strapped families.
The battle between supermarkets means many have escaped rampant inflation.

A Cadbury Creme Egg cost 75p at Asda a year ago but is now 70p.
Last Easter, eight packs of the treats were £4.75 on a Tesco Clubcard deal but the offer is now £4.50.
The Kinnerton Bluey Egg 50g was £1.48 in April 2025 but Asda now has it for £1.25, while the Milkybar White Chocolate Egg is £1.40, down from £1.48.
The M&S Collection Extra Thick Pistachio & Milk Chocolate Egg remains at £20, while the M&S Outrageously Chocolatey Custard Cream Biscuity Egg is still £12.
Yet chocolate prices are up 14.2 per cent in a year.
Andrew Opie, of the British Retail Consortium, said: “Fierce competition between retailers has helped to keep price rises in check over the past month, with promotions across various products, including seasonal chocolates.”
Sarah-Jane Outten, shopping expert at MyVoucherCodes, also said new Easter egg varieties sold over the past few years had bloated the market.
She added: “This is a nice little win for consumers, who have ended up with both more choice and lower prices.”
