A HEARTBROKEN family have paid tribute to a “beautiful” mum-of-two found dead inside a flat block as a man, 39, is charged with murder.
Karlie Sone, 28, was discovered in Ipswich, Suffolk, in the early hours of Tuesday morning following a concern for welfare check.
Paul Stevenson appeared at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on Thursday charged with murder.
The 39-year-old spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth during the brief hearing.
Stevenson was remanded in custody until his next hearing in May.
Karlie and Stevenson are understood to have been known to each other, officers confirmed.
Tributes have now flooded in for Karlie, who worked as a receptionist at the Goals soccer centre in Ipswich.
Her heartbroken family said in an emotional tribute: “Our family is absolutely devastated that our beautiful Karlie has been ripped away from her two daughters and her family and friends, leaving an unfillable void in all of our hearts.
“Her daughters will now have to face life and grow up without their amazing loving mummy by their side – they were her absolute world.
“Karlie was the most beautiful caring soul you could ever wish to meet – she lit up any room she walked into.
“Her smile and her infectious laugh would brighten everyone’s day. “
Her family said Karlie would “live on” through her daughters, who would be “loved and cherished as she would have wanted”.
“If Karlie wasn’t surrounding herself with family, she was with her incredible friends raving all the way through the night to drum and bass which was her second passion after being a mother,” the tribute added.
Karlie was found unresponsive by cops and tragically pronounced dead a short time later.
Suffolk Police initially said her death was being treated as suspicious before launching a murder probe.
A post mortem found that her cause of death was “pending further investigation”.
Karlie’s family have also launched a GoFundMe to pay for her funeral and to support her two daughters.
The appeal said: “Our hearts are completely broken as we try to come to terms with the tragic and senseless loss of Karlie Day, who was taken from us just a few days ago.
“She was more than a daughter, a sister, a friend, and a loved one. She was a devoted mum to two beautiful young girls who were her entire world. Everything she did was for them, and they loved their mum more than anything.
“In an instant, their lives have been turned upside down. They now face a future without the love, care, and protection of their mother.
“Our thoughts remain with her daughters, mum and sisters as they navigate this unimaginable loss. Forever in our hearts, Karlie.”
