IT may have been 22 years since this star played Ross Geller’s girlfriend on US sitcom Friends, but she hasn’t aged a day.
The actress, now 55, appeared on season nine and ten of the hit show as a recurring guest star, but would you recognise her now?
Attending the Irish Film and Television Awards Ceremony this week, the Friends alum looked striking in a white gown.
The star had her hair pulled back as she added a bold red lip to her look, alongside chunky gold jewellery.
She joined fellow actor Caroline Morahan in presenting an award during the bash.
Aisha Tyler portrayed Charlie Wheeler, a stunning palaeontology professor who catches the eye of two of the friendship group.
She initially dates Joey Tribbiani, played by Matt LeBlanc, with the two hooking up at the soap star’s party – much to her colleague Ross’s disappointment.
However, she later develops a relationship with David Schwimmer’s character as they realise they have more in common.
Loyal Friends fans will remember how Ross and Charlie locked lips in the Barbados episodes, when the former was giving a speech as part of a palaeontology conference.
But sadly, Ross and Charlie’s romance didn’t go the distance, thanks to an interfering ex.
In season 10, Charlie’s ex-boyfriend Benjamin Hobart, who happens to be the winner of two Nobel prizes, turns up and reveals he still has feelings for her.
It’s not long before Charlie ditches Ross, who it turns out was right to feel threatened by Hobart’s academic achievements.
Charlie’s reconnects with her ex ended Aisha’s time on the show.
Fittingly, Ross goes on to end up with Rachel Green, played by Jennifer Aniston, his ‘lobster’ and on and off girlfriend.
However, that was just the beginning of Aisha’s very successful career, with the star going on to appear in Criminal Minds, Modern Family, The Boys, Two And A Half Men, Glee and more.
Alongside her on-screen endeavors, she is a producer and director.
Friends, one of the most popular sitcoms of all time, ran for ten seasons before coming to a sad end in 2004, with show stars Jennifer, Matt, David, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow and Matthew Perry all becoming household names.
Sadly, Matthew passed away aged 54, with the actor found unresponsive in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home in October 2023.
He suffered acute effects of ketamine and drowning, his autopsy revealed.
The Friends cast have since reunited, coming together to create special artwork in an emotional tribute alongside the Matthew Perry Foundation – which works to help those struggling with the disease of addiction.
In 2024, Aisha spoke out about her experience on the show, and said that the cast – particularly Matthew – were very supportive of her joining the powerhouse sitcom.
“On my first live show, Matthew Perry said to me, ‘Get ready for your life to change.’
“And it was just those little moments of kindness that came very easily for them, but really made a difference for me – because it’s very hard to be funny if you’re frightened,” she told The Independent.
Aisha added: “You’re on a hit show and these are people you’ve watched on television and you’re standing next to them, and you just don’t want to suck.”
