QUEEN Camilla told a friend Meghan Markle had “brainwashed” Harry, a new book has claimed.
Her Majesty, 78, allegedly made the remarks as family tensions reached boiling point after the Duke and Duchess’ wedding.
The pair tied the knot at St George’s Chapel in Windsor on May 19, 2018 before jetting off on their honeymoon in the Med.
Royal author Tom Bower claimed in his new book, serialised in The Times, how the bitter feud came to a head shortly after the couple returned.
He wrote how a meeting between Harry and Prince William ended dramatically with the Duchess telling her brother-in-law: “If you don’t mind, get your finger out of my face”.
Queen Camilla later reportedly told a friend: “Meghan’s brainwashed Harry”.
Meanwhile William allegedly told Harry “it’s gone too quickly” when discussing his whirlwind romance with the Suits actress.
According to Tom Bower, Princess Kate echoed the same concerns and believed Harry was vulnerable to Meghan’s influence.
The author suggested there was an element of regret felt by the Duke and Duchess and a jealousy they would always be “spares”.
Harry, Mr Bower wrote, became “possessed by seeking revenge”.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down as senior working royals in 2020 and quit the UK.
Harry, alongside his wife, continued to drag his family name through the mud, from their 2021 Oprah interview to his 2023 memoir Spare.
Since then, there have been countless veiled digs and in particular a bombshell BBC interview from the Duke.
But there are hopes the family may reconcile at the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.
It is understood Harry will ask dad King Charles to open the ceremony in a major thawing of relations.
The pair have had two brief meetings in recent years but the olive branch could see them both on stage, where Harry will “fulfil a dream” with the King at his side for the opening ceremony.
Sources say Charles and his youngest son appear keen to end their lengthy feud – although Tom Bower has expressed his doubts.
This comes as Meghan has recently split from Netflix and is taking “complete control” of her jam empire ‘As ever’.
The $350bn streaming giant became a partner and invested in As ever when it was launched 12 months ago to sell the likes of jam, rose wine and flower sprinkles.
But insiders say Montecito-based Meghan is relieved to be able to “go it alone” after fearing As ever was being “held back” by “cautious” Netflix.
Netflix had already axed her lifestyle show ‘With Love, Meghan’ after two series and amid scathing reviews.
The As ever split was mutual and the former working royal remains “on good terms” with Netflix supremo Ted Sarandos, it is said.
Harry and Meghan still have a ‘first-look’ deal with the streaming giants with projects in the pipeline.
A source said: “Meghan is still on good terms with the Netflix team and close personal friends with Ted (Sarandos) so hasn’t wanted to upset him, but is very happy to have full control of the company.
“It’s a good time for Meghan to have complete control, given recent successes.
“Netflix have been a good partner, but she’s wanted to go global with the brand for some time, but has been held back by the more cautious Netflix team.”
The Duchess of Sussex’s team was contacted for comment.
