Carole Middleton was the epitome of race day chic on the second day of the Cheltenham Festival yesterday.

The mother of the Princess of Wales looked effortlessly elegant in a longline coat from Really Wild Clothing, brown suede boots from Russell and Bromley and a Hermès Birkin bag.

The pièce de résistance, though, was undoubtedly the 71-year-old’s £115 Suffolk Fedora in navy – an accessory that her daughter Kate also owns.

The timeless Suffolk Fedora is ideal for a multi-seasonal wardrobe and is hand-finished with a cluster of natural feathers fastened behind a leather band.

Made from soft wool felt, the hat – which Kate sported in Sandringham back in 2020 – is designed to be worn comfortably all day long.

The distinctive design is unmistakably Hicks & Brown – and you won’t find anything quite like it on the high street.

That said, the rich tone, distinct shape and feather details are elements one can easily replicate.

I’ve scoured the shops for hats that capture a similar effect – perfect for upcoming special occasions, race days and other outdoor events.
