Easter weekend will see the closure of nearly all of the brand’s 190 clothing stores for a day.

All UK stores – except in Scotland – will close for a 24 hour period on Easter Sunday.

A Primark spokesperson told the Mirror: “On Easter Sunday only stores in Scotland will be open and all stores in England, Wales and Northern Ireland will be closed.

The shop, which is typically open seven days a week, will be closing in line with the Sunday Trading Act 1994, where shops over 280 square metres must close for Easter Sunday.

Stores will likely follow a 10pm closure rule on Saturday, followed by an 8am opening the following Monday.

However, customers have been advised to check their local outlet’s opening times as it may differ.

This comes not long after the retailer confirmed the opening of its huge new branch in a former department store.

A 44,000 sq ft shop is set to open in an old House of Fraser unit in Epsom.

In a move that was teased in 2023, the brand has now confirmed the official Ashley Centre launch in just weeks – March 25.

Primark bosses have promised a music-filled opening day, as well as providing the local area with an influx of new jobs.
