Cops arrest teenage boy and girl after baby brought to hospital with serious injuries

A TEENAGE boy and a teenage girl have been arrested after a baby was rushed to hospital with serious “unexplained” injuries.

Cops were scrambled to an address in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, after the tot was admitted to a local hospital on Monday morning.

An investigation into the cause of the infant’s injuries was launched and two teens were subsequently arrested in connection with the incident.

Officers sealed off a property in Grimsby as detectives got to work on ascertaining the cause of the baby’s injuries.

A police officer was placed at the scene to guard the address as the probe continued.

Humberside Police said it was pursuing multiple lines of enquiry, adding that the injuries are currently being treated as “unexplained.”

Detective Inspector Gemma Walker said: “An investigation has been launched whilst we carry out multiple lines of enquires to establish the full circumstances surrounding the baby’s injuries, which are currently being treated as unexplained.

“A scene guard has been put in place at an address in Grimsby as our investigations continue and to allow officers to carry out their enquiries.

“A teenage boy and girl have both been arrested in connection to the incident, and I would ask that people please refrain from any form of speculation as enquiries remain ongoing.”
