The raucous crowd in Minehead was in a typically loud voice throughout the arrowed action at the oche on finals day.

Starmer is currently under the spotlight after taking criticism from US president Donald Trump due to his reluctance to join the war against Iran.

Trump said of Starmer that he was “not Winston Churchill” after he was denied permission to launch missiles strike from UK territory.

This included firing from the joint-US base on Diego Garcia in the Chagos Islands.

World no1 Luke Littler retained his UK Open title as he roared to an 11-7 win over James Wade in the final.

The final was a repeat of the 2025 showpiece match in which Littler also won but by a bigger margin of 11-2.
