Brooklyn Beckham reveals the cheeky nickname he calls wife Nicola Peltz after celebrating his 27th birthday

Brooklyn Beckham has revealed one of the cheeky nicknames he calls his wife Nicola Peltz

On Wednesday, the estranged son of Sir David and Victoria Beckham celebrated his 27th birthday, with his wife Nicola, 31, throwing him a party.

The actress shared a slew of loved-up snaps from the evening on Instagram, showing the couple packing on the PDA.

In the post, Nicola flashed sideboob in a black halterneck gown as she posed for snaps puckering up to her husband.

She captioned the post: ‘last night was so special thank you to everyone who came and made it so perfect.’

Nicola then appeared to make a jibe at the Beckhams – who are known for always professing their love for family members in their captions – as she finished off writing: ‘we all love you so much brooklyn!’

However, the post’s most-liked comment came from Brooklyn himself, who sweetly wrote to his wife: ‘My sexy little pepper xx’

The flirty remark racked up more than 300 likes, with fans replying to say how adorable they found the couple while also complimenting Nicola on her stylish look for the evening.

One fan wrote: ‘Agree! The third picture is smoking. Wow!’; while another added: ‘best couple!!’

It comes after Nicola offered a pointed response when she was questioned about the drama surrounding the Beckham family feud.

The actress and Brooklyn have been embroiled in an ugly fallout with her husband’s parents David and Victoria for months, with things coming to a head in January when Brooklyn posted an explosive statement about the row.

Despite her husband proving he wasn’t afraid to speak out, Nicola did not publicly comment on the feud at the time.

However, in an interview this week the billionaire heiress was directly asked: ‘There’s been a lot of public interest in your real life and relationship with husband Brooklyn Beckham’s family. How have you navigated that attention?’

Steering the chat firmly back to her upcoming movie, Nicola pointedly replied: ‘I’ve been editing my next film [Prima] for the past two and a half weeks.

‘So honestly, I’ve been in the editing room. We haven’t had weekends. We’ve just been trying to make a deadline [for Cannes].’

She added to The Hollywood Reporter: ‘And it’s been so amazing to just put my focus on that and be creative. It’s been really fun doing that, and I’m really excited for it to come out.’

Communication between the Beckham family has fallen apart so spectacularly that Brooklyn is said to have requested that any attempts from his family to communicate with him should be done through his lawyers.

However, on Brooklyn’s 27th birthday on Wednesday, his parents made sure to make it known that he was in their thoughts, sharing a slew of birthday tributes on Instagram

Sharing childhood photos of Brooklyn and tagging his wife Victoria, David used his childhood nickname for his son, Buster, as he wrote ’27 today. Happy Birthday Bust. We love you x’.

Minutes later Victoria shared the same photo and wrote ‘happy birthday Brooklyn, we love you so much’, before uploading a photo of herself laughing with her son with a string of love hearts.

Romeo and Cruz also shared posts along with members of extended family.

However, the posts are not said to have sat well with Brooklyn, with an insider telling ET that the aspiring chef wants to put an end to any attempt from his parents to contact him, including on social media, following their bitter falling out.

A source told the publication: ‘Brooklyn and Nicola are disheartened they chose to make public Instagram posts for his birthday.

‘These are the exact type of performative public actions that Brooklyn has been trying to put an end to, to no avail.

‘Last summer they issued a legal letter to his parents requesting that any correspondence go through lawyers.’

Despite the report, Brooklyn’s younger brother Cruz expressed his hopes of a reconciliation when he was asked about the fallout on Thursday while out in Paris with his girlfriend Jackie Apostel.

The musician, 21, was quizzed by a reporter if he had a message for Brooklyn as he celebrated his 27th birthday this week.

He simply replied: ‘Happy Birthday.’

When the TMZ reporter asked Cruz if he had spoken to him at all, he did not respond, though did say he ‘hoped to’ repair his fractured relationship with his sibling.

Brooklyn failed to publicly reach out to Cruz on his milestone 21st birthday last week and snubbed his birthday message this week.

The American actress, who is taking on her most ambitious role yet as a ballerina in Prima, has been leaning into the traditional baby pink associated with the dance and its costume in her recent social media posts.

And Brooklyn’s birthday post did not veer from the pattern, as she treated her husband to pink doughnuts and flowers on the day.

Brooklyn, who was apparently disheartened by his parents’ ‘performative’ birthday tributes, was even fittingly dressed in a pale pink jumper to match the surroundings.

In keeping with the theme, Nicola was also wearing a baby pink top to match, in a cosy picture she shared of herself and Brooklyn cuddled up on the day.

Captioning the post, she wrote: ‘Happy birthday baby… I hope all your dreams and wishes come true! you light up every room you walk into and anyone who knows you loves you… you’re the most special human and I love being your wife. I love you I love you I love you.’

Responding to her birthday tribute, he wrote: ‘I love you baby girl.’

Nicola appeared to have something special up her sleeve for Brooklyn, with the actress gifting him a box of twenty one iced doughnuts, individually shaped to read ‘Happy Birthday Brooklyn’.

The influencer was also confronted by a mountain of gifts, thoughtfully presented in Cloud 23 wrapping paper – a reference to his popular hot sauce brand, ironically named after his father’s shirt number at Real Madrid and Los Angeles Galaxy.

Now based in the United States with his actress wife Nicola, Brooklyn recently outlined his desire to distance himself from his family in a six-page Instagram statement filled with lurid allegations.

Addressing social media followers in January, he claimed his parents had tried to sabotage his marriage and have always prioritised public branding over their family relationships.

‘For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family,’ he wrote.

‘The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.’

He added: ‘Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.’

Brooklyn Beckham’s statement in full

I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.

I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.

Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.

My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped. My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.

Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children.

They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated. My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since.

During the wedding planning, my mum went so far as to call me “evil” because Nicola and I chose to include my Nanny Sandra, and Nicola’s Naunni at our table, because they both didn’t have their husbands. Both of our parents had their own tables equally adjacent to ours.

The night before our wedding, members of my family told me that Nicola was “not blood” and “not family.” Since the moment I started standing up for myself with my family, I’ve received endless attacks from my parents, both privately and publicly, that were sent to the press on their orders.

Even my brothers were sent to attack me on social media, before they ultimately blocked me out of nowhere this last Summer.

My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song. In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead.

She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life. We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.

My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we’ve tried to come together as one. My mum has repeatedly invited women from my past into our lives in ways that were clearly intended to make us both uncomfortable.

Despite this, we still travelled to London for my dad’s birthday and were rejected for a week as we waited in our hotel room trying to plan quality time with him. He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner.

When he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn’t invited. It was a slap in the face. Later, when my family travelled to LA, they refused to see me at all.

My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first. Family “love” is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp, even if it’s at the expense of our professional obligations.

We’ve gone out of our way for years to show up and support at every fashion show, every party, and every press activity to show ‘our perfect family.’ But the one time my wife asked for my mum’s support to save displaced dogs during the LA fires, my mum refused.

The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards. I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared.

I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief. My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.
