A MUM has pleaded with people not to “judge” her, after snapping up 12 boxes of reduced laundry pods from her local Tesco.

Carolanne explained that she’d seen the Fairy Non Bio washing tabs in the supermarket, where they were being sold for £3.20 a box – compared to their usual £7 full price.

In addition, there was a deal on to get an extra 25% off if you buy five of the boxes.

So she snapped up 12 of them, meaning that her entire haul cost her £28.80 – and is enough to do a whopping 300 washes.

Taking to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook, Carolanne shared a snap of the boxes piled high, and wrote: “My local Tesco selling Fairy wash pods £3.20 box.

“Buy 5 packs get 25% extra off..

“Is this from all Tesco stores?” one person wrote in the comments.

As another clarified that the 25% off all cleaning products is at all Tesco stores, while the reduced to clear pods only seem to be in certain branches.

“Online was buy 3 and get 25% off,” someone else wrote.

“And the XXL bags are down to £9.50.”

While others were quick to praise Carolanne for sharing her bargain find.

“I’ve got allergies and the only thing I can use is Fairy and one other brand,” one wrote.

“Will look out for deals!”

“I do this as much as I can do,” another admitted.

Top laundry tips from experts

Small space? Clever laundry solution

There’s nothing better than naturally air-dried laundry. It’s gentler on fabrics, more energy efficient than tumble drying and helps clothes last longer. But when space indoors or outdoors is at a premium, air-drying can feel tricky.

Laura Marsden, laundry expert at Vileda, said “With a few smart choices, you can make natural drying quicker, easier and better for your clothes – even when space is limited.”

Retractable washing lines are a discreet solution for compact gardens and balconies. They are wall-mounted and can lock at any length up to 15 metres, then neatly retract after use. For bigger households,
the NEW Vileda Dual Cordomatic (RRP £18.99) features two retractable lines, offers up to 30 metres of drying space, ideal for getting through larger washloads.

Tackle tough stains

“Hang your laundry in a sunny spot to help tackle even the toughest of stains on white cotton items, without the need for harsh chemicals, as the sun’s rays act as a natural bleach,” advises Laura Marsden.

Make whites brighter

“For extra brightening power, I suggest adding half a cup of white vinegar to your fabric softener during the final cycle of your machine’s wash,” Laura adds. “The mild acidity of the white vinegar removes detergent residue that can make clothes look dull over time, ensuring that your white laundry items maintain their brightness.”

“Well done, you’re always going to need them,” a third added.

“I’d have done the same!”

“Need to get myself there for some!” someone else insisted.
