MARTIN BRAITHWAITE has continued his journey into business after launching a bistro in Brazil with his wife.
The former Barcelona striker is no stranger to making moves away from football after pumping money into properties, smart homes, fashion, and food.
Partner Anne-Laure already has Braithwaite’s kitchen, a Barcelona-based healthy meals delivery service for veggies.
And now the pair have got to work at Playa Paris, a brunch and cocktail restaurant.
First popping up on the outskirts of Barcelona, by the beach, the cafe has opened a second restaurant in Porto Alegre.
Serving anything from croissants to chicken sandwiches, all-day breakfasts and cocktails, Braithwaite celebrated the move online.
He wrote on Instagram: “[Translated] “A very special night for us.
“Playa Paris Brazil finally opened the doors officially, and see this project come to life in my heart of joy and pride.
“Anne-Laure Braithwaite, my love, you dream. I thought about every detail, put together your good pleasure (that you already know) and worked tirelessly so that everything turned out exactly as I imagined.
“May this be a place that encounters good memories and special experiences.

Braithwaite, 34, now plays for Gremio in Brazil. They are based in Porto Alegre, just around the corner from the restaurant.
He moved there in 2024 after leaving Espanyol, Barcelona, following a 10-year career across Europe.
Braithwaite, who grew up in Denmark and represented his national team 69 times, scoring 10 goals, had spells at Toulouse (149 games, 40 goals), Barca (58 matches, 10 goals), and Middlesbrough (40 appearances, nine goals).
He left Camp Nou in controversial circumstances after being released.
Manager at the time, Xavi, was keen to move on from him with the Catalan side going through financial troubles.
Barca were keen to terminate his contract mutually in order to get out of paying all the money owed but Braithwaite stood firm.
Despite a mixed footballing career, the forward has had huge success off the field.
Ventures with Wag Anne-Laure have seen his net worth rocket to over £250million.
His property company reportedly went from an initial £600k investment to being valued at more than £200million in a matter of years.
Anne-Laure, who rocked a stunning turquoise dress for the grand opening of Playa Paris, has over 50,000 followers on Instagram.
She is a self-described journalist, TV host, and mum of five.
The founder of Braithwaite’s kitchen has been showcasing all of the construction work for her new restaurant.
