Zelensky will send his elite drone hunters to Gulf nations to share their experience of shooting down enemy aircraft.

The Ukrainian president said: “Our military possesses the necessary capabilities.

“Ukrainian experts will work on site, and the teams are already discussing this.”

The deadly drones being launched at US bases and other targets across the Middle East are the same as those that Putin has relentlessly aimed at Ukrainians.

No country in the world has better experience at striking down these drones.

Zelensky revealed: “And we are ready to help protect lives, protect civilians, and support real efforts to stabilise the situation and restore, in particular, safe shipping in the region.

“Ukraine is conducting consultations with partners in Europe and the United States, as well as with Iran‘s neighbouring countries.”

He has spoken to the leaders of the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, and Jordan – all of which are facing daily onslaughts of drones as Iran wreaks its revenge for US-Israeli operation Epic Fury.

The Ukrainian president added: “There will be further talks with Kuwait and other countries in the region.

“All of them face serious challenges and speak openly about them.

“Iranian attack drones – the same Shahed drones that have been attacking our cities and villages, our Ukrainian infrastructure for years during this war.”

It comes as Ukraine asked the US about potentially pushing back or changing the location of the next round of peace talks with Russia.

The next talks mediated by the US were planned for 5 March – 9 March, but chaos in the Middle East could disrupt them.

Zelensky said: “The Iranian regime, which is trying to survive at all costs, poses obvious threats to all states in the region, as well as to global stability.

It comes as…

“No state neighbouring Iran can feel safe. The Iranian regime has not yet demonstrated any real intention of engaging in honest diplomacy or making fundamental changes.”

He ordered his military and intelligence commanders “to present options for support to relevant states and assistance in such a way that it does not weaken our own defence here in Ukraine”.

He called for backing from leading Western states to assist this effort.

It comes as the first repatriation flight slated to save British tourists stranded in the Middle East was grounded this morning.

The flight was supposed to depart Muscat, Oman, at 11pm local time (7pm UK time) on Wednesday – but instead, after enduring agonising waits, Brits were sent back to their hotels.
