Man Utd fans name player they never want to see again after ‘disgraceful defending’ in Newcastle defeat

MANCHESTER UNITED fans were left fuming with Tyrell Malacia’s role in Newcastle’s late winner against their side.

Ten-man Toon stole three points against the Red Devils thanks to William Osula’s last-gasp wondergoal.

The substitute produced a lung-busting run before curling a brilliant left-footed shot into the corner.

Forgotten man Malacia replaced Noussair Mazraoui in the 85th minute.

The Dutchman didn’t cover himself in glory for Osula’s goal, even finding himself facing the wrong way after being bamboozled by the forward’s stepovers.

Commenting on Malacia’s cameo, one fan wrote on X: “Never wanna see Malacia start or play a game for Manchester United. Because what is this disgraceful defending?”

While a second fumed: “Should be Malacia’s last game for the club, hopefully. Strange signing in the first place. And strange that he was even on the bench tonight. What was he doing for their winner?”

A third blasted: “Just look at Malacia, man… I prefer not to speak.”

And another added: “Malacia had no business being sent on as a sub.”

Malacia missed the entire 2023-24 season with a knee injury.

He finally returned to action in November 2024, before spending the second half of last term on loan at PSV Eindhoven.

The full-back was frozen out upon his return and was part of Ruben Amorim‘s “bomb squad” last summer alongside the likes of Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony.

After failing to secure a summer move away, Malacia was eventually reintegrated into first team training in late September.

Tonight was just his second first team appearance of the season, having also made a brief sub appearance against Newcastle at Old Trafford on Boxing Day.

The nine-cap Dutch international is set to be out of contract at Old Trafford in the summer.

United’s trip to the Toon exploded into life during first half stoppage time.

First, Jacob Ramsey was shown a second yellow card after having been adjudged to have dived under a challenge from Senne Lammens.

Just moments later Newcastle were awarded a penalty for Bruno Fernandes’ trip on Anthony Gordon, with the England winger dusting himself down to convert from 12 yards.

Casemiro equalised nine minutes into first half stoppage time by heading home Fernandes’ free-kick from the right flank.

Man Utd pushed for a winner during the second half, but it was Osula who delivered a memorable 90th minute strike.

Newcastle’s win saw them clamber above Brighton into 12th in the table.

While Man Utd remained third, albeit missing an opportunity to strengthen their grip on a Champions League spot.
