A MARRIED At First Sight bride has shared a shocking picture of a huge cyst in her body, after having an operation to remove it.
Chanita Stephenson, 33, previously told her followers that she was “so scared” of having surgery to get rid of a 17cm growth from her ovary.
The MAFS star, who was matched with Jordan Emmett-Connolly on the E4 reality show, bravely opened up about her health battle.
The Derby-born lass has given fans an update on how she is doing after having the massive cyst removed.
Taking to her Instagram, the star, who two years ago sadly lost her mum to cancer, Chanita shared a picture of herself taking a mirror selfie.
In the corner she had added a picture of the giant cyst and joked that she had nicknamed it “Terry”.
Chanita also added: “Feeling very grateful for my body and all we’ve been through.
“My stomach has never been this flat. Post 17cm Terry the ovarian cyst!”
Chanita first told fans about her health battle last year and described the cyst as a “17cm plot twist on my life.”
In September, she revealed more about her diagnosis, and confirmed that although she was referred on a cancer pathway, she thankfully does not have the disease.
Chanita told how she “finally” went to the doctors about her persistent bloating and said: “I don’t have cancer but what I do have is a 17cm, yes 17cm cyst that is on my ovary.
“So I have called him Terry, Terry is a dermoid cyst that has taken over my ovary so I now have to have open surgery to take Terry out.
“And he’s probably going to take the ovary with him.”
Speaking in the video clip filmed in her car, she added: “The reason I’m doing this video is not to scare anyone or be woe is me, it’s just about actually if you’ve had an issue for a long time that you keep getting pushed off, just go and get it checked out.
“You just never know. I genuinely just thought it was my eating habits and intolerances that were causing me to look bloated, when actually it’s this huge cyst.”
She wrapped her video by asking her followers for any surgery tips.
In her caption, she then wrote: “Surgery is coming … and honestly I’m so scared.”
Chanita has not had the easiest time in the years that followed her MAFS stint in 2022.
In January 2024, she took to social media to share the devastating news of her mum’s death.
Chondelle had made a brief appearance on Married At First Sight as she supported her daughter on her wedding day.
Meanwhile, Chanita was also rushed to hospital on the day of her mother’s funeral after suffering a painful accident.
Chanita wed Jordan on MAFS but fans were left shocked after learning that he had dumped her almost immediately after filming.
The couple ended all contact despite their promising relationship in the series.
