SCOTT WILLIAMS has revealed that he played in the FA Cup before achieving darts stardom.
The arrows cult hero, 36, was a handy footballer in his youth and turned out for hometown team Boston Town in Lincolnshire.

During a recent appearance on the Happy Hour podcast, Williams lifted the lid on his football prowess.
Shaggy said: “Footballer every day of the week, because from the age of six, seven or eight, when I first started playing, that was all I wanted to do.
“Yes, I started playing the usual, you know, Sundays, training on Friday and Saturday, playing kids’ football.
“Then I started playing adults’ football at 16. And I went from being a goalkeeper to playing up front somewhere.”
On his football exploits, Williams added: “I played in FA Cup games. On the wing, yeah, for Boston Town.
“And not high-up games, like preliminary games, but I played for Boston Town.
“I was decent. I’m a better goalkeeper than an outfield player because I’m too tall and too gangly, really.”
Williams reached the semi-finals of the World Darts Championship in 2024, famously taking out Michael van Gerwen in the quarter-finals.

Just days after his semi-final defeat to eventual champion Luke Humphries, Williams was turning out in goal for Boston-based Swinhead Institute Reserves.
He played in goal as his side defeated Park United Reserves 4-1 in the Main Ridge Takeaway Reserve Cup.
The Lincolnshire club posted on X: “4-1 v skeg [Skegness] for the 1st team and the same result for res in the res cup semi. Welcome home Shaggy.”
Williams also took to social media, sharing a photo of the club’s dartboard alongside the caption: “Saturday afternoons are for Football……and darts.”
He added: “My other real passion is football!!! Out representing Swineshead Institute and a 4-1 win in the semi-final of the reserve cup!!!”
