Rupert Grint is facing a planning nightmare after over 2,000 homes were earmarked for development on the doorstep of his new £3.5million mansion.
The Harry Potter actor could see two huge housing estates erected close to his new Grade II listed property in the town of Frome.
Grint purchased the 11-bedroom pad late last year and has only been living there for the past two months.
Developers have since submitted plans for a 360 housing development just a few metres away, which could see the Hollywood star plagued with noise and traffic.
A planning application for the Oldford Hill project was submitted in January this year and if approved could see a huge 84 acres of land taken up by residential dwellings.
Meanwhile, in the south of the town, developers have also earmarked plans to build a whopping 1,700 homes as part of an ‘innovative and sustainable’ community hub.
The Selwood Garden Community project will also include a new 80-room hotel, primary school and two residential care homes, according to plans.
It was subject to a planning inquiry last year, with a decision due from the local council due as early as next month.

Locals are already up in arms about the plans, which they fear could cause a ‘traffic disaster’ and issues with flooding.
Resident Melanie Brown said: ‘Frome does not have the infrastructure for more housing, our roads are disintegrating.
‘It is already difficult to get a doctors appointment, nurseries are oversubscribed, our roads already become gridlocked on market days and school kick out times.
She added: ‘This is not what Frome needs as it will just put pressure on an already struggling infrastructure.’
Andrew Gardiner, another resident, said the scale of the projects would put a ‘significant and unsustainable’ strain on the town.
Lorna Wheeler also objected to the plans, saying: ‘The access and traffic will be more than the current roads can cope with, and the flooding, particularly in the current environmental climate, will be disastrous.’
Michelle Archer claimed the development would ’cause significant harm’ to the town and add ‘hundreds of daily vehicle journeys through already stretched local roads’.
Grint himself was the subject of planning furore after he put forward plans to build 15 new houses on his £5.4million Hertfordshire estate in 2024.
Under the plans, six apartments were set to be converted from the actor’s existing manor house.
Meanwhile, four homes, styled as ‘Lake Houses’ would be built nearby while a ‘Garden House’ and Greenhouse converted into two dwellings alongside a group of four two-bed cottages.
The plans were approved in November 2024 after the actor agreed to build four affordable homes as part of the scheme.
Since ending his Harry Potter role, Grint has starred in numerous roles on stage and screen, including a recurring role over the last four years in Apple TV series Servant.
