SHOCKING footage shows the moment a US fighter jet was shot down over Kuwait and crashed next to an American military base amid Iran missile attacks.
Dramatic video shows the F-15 jet ablaze in the sky before it is seen spinning as it plummets to the ground.
Two pilots successfully ejected and were seen alive on the ground.
Footage shows one US pilot surrounded by Kuwaiti security officers and appears to be able to walk.
The plane was reportedly downed at Al Jahra in Kuwait.
There was no initial comment from American military sources on the incident.
The F-15, a highly manoeuvrable and tactical fighter, is considered one of the US’s best fighter jets.
The plane was likely involved in repelling attacks on US or Western facilities in Kuwait.
Kuwait hosts the largest US military presence in region, with approximately 13,500 troops stationed in the country, as well as Camp Arifjian, the forward headquarters of US Army Central.
Iran state media has confirmed the incident. The regime has claimed it is behind the attack.
But there are also claims the Al-Hashd Al-Shaabi militia group – aka Popular Mobilisation Forces – may have downed the warplane.
It comes after Iran’s top official said Tehran “will not negotiate” with the US on the third day of attacks from both sides.
US President Donald Trump has said strikes will continue at “full force” until its objectives are achieved and could last up to four weeks.
