The hit show is based on the bestselling books by Canadian author Rachel Reid, who recently announced the seventh book in the series, Unrivalled will be dropping in June 2027.

Ilya actor Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams, who plays Shane, have both been catapulted to stardom since the show’s release, with them both having worked jobs in hospitality before their breakout roles.

Connor and co-star Francois Arnaud both made an appearance recently at the fall 2026 Saint Laurent as part of Paris fashion week.

Meanwhile, Hudson has graced the cover of Wonderland and Timid magazine.

Connor and Hudson also delighted viewers when they presented an award together at the Golden Globes.

Heated Rivalry’s season finale saw Shane’s dad walk in on him and Ilya in an intimate moment, discovering their secret.

It prompted Shane to then come out as gay to his parents and introduce them to his boyfriend Ilya in emotional scenes.

Season two will be adapted from Reid’s book The Long Game and will see the two question whether to go public with their secret love while stil competing on the ice.
