CONOR BENN has revealed what he text Eddie Hearn in the aftermath of his shock move to Zuffa Boxing.
Benn ditched Hearn and Matchroom, his promoters for the last TEN YEARS, last week to ink an eight-figure deal with Zuffa Boxing.
The Destroyer informed Hearn of his intention to move on to pastures new through his lawyers.
Former promoter Hearn claims Benn snubbed his attempts to discuss his exit on the phone.
But Benn, in an interview with Boxing King Media, insisted: “I didn’t choose not to speak to him.
“I didn’t want to go into the details of it. I think things were very heated with the teams.
“And knowing how I am as an individual, would the call have been beneficial?
“Would the call have been great for us? And I personally don’t think it would have.”
Benn, however, claims to have sent Hearn a message about how he truly feels about him in the days which followed his Matchroom exit.
He continued: “Once the dust had settled and it had calmed down I messaged Eddie saying, ‘I love you mate.’

“‘And you know, this isn’t the end of the road, you know, the journey does continue’.
“When things get heated, I’ve said things in the moment, from previous experiences where, you know, you regret saying them.
‘Why speak in the midst of hurt, ego, pride, anger? Nothing good comes from it.”
Hearn, 46, admits he was left “devastated” by Benn’s decision to sign with Dana White’s latest combat sports venture but refrained from attacking his former fighter’s character.
But that wasn’t the case for his dad Barry, who told talkSPORT: “I didn’t think he was that type of boy. Maybe we got it wrong with Conor.
“We took his side, and we believed everything he said, and maybe we were wrong. I hope not.
“It is personally disappointing because it goes beyond money. He has obviously received a huge offer from Dana White and his team.
“Dana has got Turki Alalshikh’s money behind him, and he needs to sign fighters, and he needs to pay them really well, which he is doing.
“But that doesn’t mean you have to disband a team that built you.
“The team was already in place, and each member of the team would have taken a bullet from him at ringside.
“And you don’t often get that in life and then react like this.
“It is deeply upsetting… It is a classless way of doing it when you have an open relationship.”
