The most powerful tool in the leftist playbook is propaganda, and to a certain extent, you can understand how low-information people who take their cues from the Pravda Media can be taken in.
We can argue about how forgivable this is, given how often the media and Democrats have been caught lying. You would think that after the “sharp as a tack” hoax was blown apart, people would begin to wake up. But the habit of years is a powerful force, so it is not THAT shocking that people are being taken in by the curated stories about ICE invading churches and hospitals.
So set all that aside for a moment and focus on the more obvious lies no sentient person should accept. If passively accepting the hoaxes that require actual effort to debunk might be understandable, how do you explain the acceptance of obvious lies that directly contradict their everyday experience?
The most obvious example, of course, is alphabet ideology. If you have been alive long enough to grow up until adulthood, or even long enough to have played doctor as a kid, you know that there are two genders. You know what a man is and what a woman is. You know that Scientific American is gaslighting you when they claim sexual dimorphism was invented in the 18th century.
Liberals are just denying reality when they say otherwise.
But that was not the example I had in mind when I started this post. Rather, it is the green energy/green jobs illusion that so many people seem to believe.
For years, we have been sold the lie that green energy is the cheapest form of energy and that there will be a green jobs boom in the energy transition. We get bombarded by these claims, and Biden even passed the Green New Deal by calling it the Inflation Reduction Act.
Yet states that have committed to green energy and are pushing forward with it have the highest energy prices, while energy-abundant states have the lowest. Californians have daily direct experience that they are being lied to, but they simply refuse to acknowledge the obvious. Talk to them about “green” energy, and after the inevitable lecture on climate change, you get the lecture on how cheap green energy is.

States like California, Massachusetts, and Connecticut have politicians who will rhapsodize on the wonders of clean green energy, but when you look at the results of their policies, you get exactly the opposite of what is promised.
Energy Secretary Chris Wright says high electricity costs are a political choice in the United States today. The evidence at hand indicates the Secretary isn’t wrong.
“If you have expensive energy in your state…it’s because politicians and regulators chose to do that,” Wright said in a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal. “It is not bad luck, it is not marketplace…there is no reason to have these rapid increases in electricity prices – no reason, but politics.”
This is correct, and the disparity that exists in electricity bills in red states and blue states can be easily seen in a national map published by the U.S. Energy Information Agency (EIA), along with its supporting data.
EIA’s data shows the states with the highest rates include Democratic strongholds like California, New York, Hawaii, and the New England states. Meanwhile, the states with the lowest utility bills include the reddest of red states like Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Nebraska, Wyoming, Idaho, North Dakota, and Iowa. This all ties directly in with the findings in a recent study by the Institute for Energy Research that I wrote about in January.
- Electricity prices were up 6.7% year over year in December, nearly 40% since 2020. That is due to the United States adopting “UK-style” energy policies under the Biden and Obama presidencies, like forcing coal plant closures and wind/solar mandates.
- Utility rates rose two times the rate of inflation in Democrat-governed states over the last five years, in GOP states, only half the inflation rate.
- States with Renewable Portfolio Standards (RPS) have 50% higher prices than those without; 28 states enforce them, driving costs up.
- Biden’s $5 trillion stimulus (for a $1.5T GDP gap) fueled inflation across the board but is now fixable via policy reversals like the ones Wright and other Trump officials are now pursuing.
“We’ve had a tailwind of these things to drive up our own energy prices,” Wright says, “And so that’s a battleship we’re stopping and turning back.”
I’m not surprised by the lies. Lying is what politicians do for a living. What I cannot understand is why, in this case, people still believe them. It is as if reality can slap them in the face, and they don’t even feel it.
First, here are the numbers:
RESIDENTIAL
– North Dakota: ~11.5¢ per kWh
– California: ~33.6¢ per kWh
– National average: ~18¢ per kWhBUSINESS
– North Dakota: ~7.4¢ per kWh
– California: ~24.45¢ per kWh (only Hawaii is worse, for obvious reasons)
– National average: ~13¢ per… pic.twitter.com/A3l61CvJSr— Jon Law (@jonxlaw) January 30, 2026
Biden passed his Green New Deal, and prices started skyrocketing almost immediately, yet you still encounter people who will give you the lecture about how they will usher in a new era of abundance and cheap power as if this were credible.
We can look to countries that have gone all-in on green energy, like Germany or Great Britain, and they are deindustrializing, have astronomical power prices, and yet we still get the Green jobs tap dance.
It comes down to 5 key differences:
– Energy abundance (supply-side)
– Geography
– Ownership model
– Wildfire liability
– Regulatory incentivesI’ll break down each one👇

I understand the motives of the politicians, NGOs, and green energy scammers. They are making bank on the green new scam. What I cannot fathom is the people who still BELIEVE the propaganda, despite the evidence that they are being robbed blind. Every time you pay your electricity bill, which is the highest in the nation, or fill up your tank with the most expensive gasoline, the refutation of the lies stares you in the face and is reinforced by the pain you feel.
But these people still believe it, and will insist to you that green policies will increase affordability and create jobs.
You simply cannot argue with these people because they do not believe in evidence. They will trot out The Science™ that “proves” their point, while ignoring the refutation before their eyes. It is like a Monty Python script.
Total confidence unburdened by any connection to reality.
Arguing with these people is so exhausting because you simply cannot penetrate the “logic.” It is depressing.
