
COPS have launched an urgent hunt after a woman was raped in a quiet market town in the early hours.
An investigation is underway after the victim was attacked by a man in Malton, North Yorkshire, on Sunday morning.

Police say the horror unfolded at around 1am in the Orchard Fields area behind Tate-Smith wines.
Extensive enquiries are ongoing to identify the suspect, who has been described as in his 40s or 50s, around 5’10” to 5’11” tall with facial hair.
He is believed to have had bare arms at the time of the attack, but cops do not know what clothing he was wearing.
Officers have appealed to anyone who may have seen the suspect or a woman walking in the Sheepfoot Hill area and the fire station.
Detectives have also urged anyone who lives or works along the route and has CCTV or doorbell footage covering those areas to get in touch.
Motorists who may have dashcam footage from the early hours have also been urged to contact the police.
Detective Chief Inspector Dave Ellis, said: ” We understand that local people will be very concerned about this incident.
“Our Major Investigation Team are carrying out extensive and expeditious enquiries to identify and locate the suspect.
“Our crime scene investigators and search teams remained at the scene until Monday afternoon to carry out a detailed examination of the scene.
“Our Neighbourhood Policing Teams will continue to provide an increased visible presence in the area to provide reassurance to the community.
“We urge anyone with the smallest piece of information to please get in touch.
“The victim is receiving support from specially trained officers and specialist services as the investigation continues.”
