A fashion designer to Hollywood stars was mugged for his ultra-rare £2million Richard Mille watch in Mayfair.
Romanin-born Catalin Botezatu, 59, who has worked for the likes of Vogue and Versace, was robbed in Berkeley Square at 11.50pm last Thursday, January 29.
Gangs are known to hunt victims in the exclusive London neighbourhood of Mayfair.
Younes Djoudim, 33, from Slough, Berkshire, has been charged with theft and was remanded in custody at Westminster Magistrates Court on Saturday.
The Richard Mille watch stolen from Mr Botezatu is likely part of the Sapphire Series which are considered some of the rarest watches in the world.
These beautiful watches are all carved from blocks of sapphire crystal. There are four types the RM 56-02 Tourbillon, RM 56-01, RM 27-04, and RM 52-05.
These watches are highly sought after in the celebrity world. Tennis legend Rafael Nadal is known to have one as well as F1 driver Charles Leclerc.
Jay Z also has a £2million Richard Mille RM 056 Blueprint, a prototype version.

Botezatu founded his own fashion label – the Delphi fashion house – in the 1990s, opening his first boutique in Romania, his home country.
He has risen up the ranks in his career, getting to study and work with Italian fashion legend Gianni Versace.
Now Botezatu works with huge clients in showbiz, including US singer and actress Vanessa Williams.
He also designs perfumes and jewellery, on top of his clothing catalogue. In 2000, he became the first fashion designer in the world to be allowed to do a fashion shoot in the perimeter of ancient sites.
The Daily Mail has contacted the Metropolitan Police for further details.
