THE transfer window has closed but there are still some gems available to sign on the free transfer market.
Raheem Sterling became the most high-profile player to be released last month after reaching a mutual agreement with Chelsea to terminate his contract.
There has been plenty of speculation about where the winger could end up with Fulham, West Ham and Napoli linked to his signature.
He is not the only former England player up for grabs either, with ex-Manchester United star Jesse Lingard leaving South Korean side FC Seoul in December.
The 33-year-old may not be available for long however having been linked with a switch to Serie A.
Reports also say he has been holding discussions with “various” British clubs, including some in the Premier League.
Lingard’s former team-mate at the 2018 World Cup, Dele Alli is still without a club after leaving Como last year.
While deadline day was sparked into life with talk Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could be given a contract by Arsenal.
The midfielder, who played for the Gunners between 2011 and 2017, has been training with the Under-21s side.
And asked about the possibility of signing Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mikel Arteta said: “We explore every option.”
