Jarrell Miller urged to ditch toupee that flew off during fight in viral moment as doctor warns of dangers

JARRELL MILLER has been urged to DITCH the toupee that got punched off his head in the ring and instantly caused a viral moment.

Miller beat Kingsley Ibeh in New York’s Madison Square Garden over 12 rounds but the night will forever be remembered for one reason.

Because in round two, Ibeh landed a punch that quite literally took Miller’s wig off his head, forcing the American to rip it off in the corner.

Miller’s exposed scalp went viral and the disgraced serial drug cheat tried to find the funny side of it.

But doctor Dr. Abdulaziz Balwi – a leading hair surgeon at Elithair – explained that it was not safe for Miller to wear a toupee in the ring anyway.

He said: “While wearing a toupee typically doesn’t dramatically impact athletic performance, it does come with practical concerns for athletes.

“Sweat and movement can cause the hair system to lift or degrade more quickly, which can be uncomfortable and potentially irritate the scalp.

“This irritation may make it harder for natural hair to grow or remain healthy in the affected areas.

“Additionally, some adhesives used to secure hairpieces can irritate the skin or even tear it if removed improperly.

“Even strong, sport-specific adhesives can cause damage if the hair system is forcibly removed without a proper solvent.

“Some hair systems are designed to clip partially into the natural hair for added security.

“If the clips are fastened too tightly or worn for extended periods, they can repeatedly pull on the hair, putting stress on the hair roots and potentially causing further hair loss.”

Miller is no stranger to unwanted headlines – having failed three drug tests in 2019 to deny him the chance of fighting Anthony Joshua.

Another doping scandal a year later meant he lost out on a contract with Top Rank and ESPN.

And Miller, 37, embarrassingly attempted damage control by claiming his hair loss was caused by using dodgy SOAP at his mother’s house.

Dr Balwi added: “Household bleach or ammonia-based cleaning products can be very harsh on the scalp.

“Direct contact can chemically burn or irritate the skin, damaging the hair shaft and potentially causing breakage and temporary hair loss in the affected areas.

“If your scalp comes into contact with such cleaning agents, rinse immediately with plenty of cool water and avoid scrubbing.

“Applying a gentle, soothing moisturiser or aloe vera can help calm irritation.

“For any persistent redness, pain, or hair shedding, it’s best to consult a dermatologist or hair specialist to prevent permanent damage.”
