B&M is known for its amazing dupes.
And it seems the high street store has done it again, with a version of the viral leakproof £19 Nespresso cup.
Shoppers have been frantically searching their local B&M looking for the £3 copy, which comes in pink or pastel green.
However, many of those who have found the cups have been left baffled – with an “air pressure” issue making it hard for them to suck liquid through the straw.
They took to TikTok in their droves complaining of the problem, with many pleading for help in dealing with it and making the cup more usable.
“I thought only mine was like this!!!!” one wrote in the comments section of one video.
“YES thought I was the only one!” another added.
“I was searching to see if anyone else’s was the same,” a third wrote.
“I need to loosen the lid which defeats the point of it being leakproof.”
Alexandra was one of the lucky shoppers who managed to get her hands on one of the cups – opting for the green to go with her favourite iced matcha.
And she wasn’t willing to accept defeat with the cup, instead searching for solutions on how to actually use it.
She then managed to find a hack to help, as she explained in a video on her TikTok page: “If you do have this bottle, push the straw on an angle to this side or any side and you’ll be able to drink it without getting the pressure.”
Alexandra added that she was “quite scared” to turn the cup upside down, but when she did so, she was pleased to find it was still 100% leakproof.
“Top tip for the B&M cup and how to drink out of it without the air pressure,” she captioned her video.
“I just tried that and it worked,” one wrote in the comments section.
“It is a great dupe… just loosen the lid a bit,” another suggested.
“That happens due to pressure/vacuum build up. It happens with almost every similar cup.”
“Apparently you have to cut a diagonal slit in the bottom of the straw so more air is allowed into the straw??” a third suggested.
Why B&M is so good for bargains
SENIOR Digital Writer, Abby Wilson, who loves a shopping trip to B&M, has shared her thoughts on why the chain is the place to go for bargain buys…
WE all love B&M (especially me). It’s a one-stop-shop where you can nab all things from gardenware and homeware, to snacks and cleaning supplies.
Not only do we love the variety B&M offers (because after all, who can be bothered to go to five different shops anymore?!), but the prices are brilliant too.
If you’re on a budget, B&M is definitely worth vising – as it’s full of cheap bargain buys.
Not only will you find affordable items, but B&M is full of dupes too – so if you’re after beauty buys without the designer price tag, you’ll need to take a trip.
Similar to this, the chain are eager to get on trends – so if you see something in H&M Home but are on a budget and can’t justify the price, give it a few weeks and you’ll probably spot something similar on the shelves in your local B&M.
“I don’t know yet, I’ll have to try it!”
“It’s an interplay between pressure change and gravity,” someone else wrote.
“I’d take out the rubbery part from the top to give it more air from there so you can drink it normally.”
